The inspection was carried out on board the BG. EASTERN CONTINENT on the January 01, 2014 at 15.00 hours up to on hire time on January 02, 2014 at 02.00 hours local time, while she was lying afloat at PT. Pandan Bahari Shipyard, Tanjung Uncang, Batam, Indonesia.
This ON HIRE/condition survey was carried out of external only, all structure and plating were counted from fore to aft, port to starboard, bottom to top, unless otherwise stated.
Based on our inspection, the barge condition was found generally in sound condition with notification rusted and signed of slightly scratched and dented at several places but its considered in fair condition.
Towing gear such as smith bracket, chain bridles, shackles and guide bracket at forward and emergency towing gear at bow part were found in fair condition. The port and starboard side shell plate of barge’s were found slightly rusted and scratched at several places and several indentation were found at tire steel fender but its considered in fair condition.
The main deck generally was found in rusty condition but it’s considered in sound and fair condition. 1 (one) unit of winch and 1,020 Kgs anchor located at stern without compartment was found reportedly in operating order.
The BG. EASTERN CONTINENT is flat top deck cargo barge of all steel welded construction with provided with cargo stanchion at port and starboard side and fitted with two skegs at stern side. The barge was built by PT. Pandan Bahari Shipyard, Batam and under classification of Germanischer Lloyd (GL).
