The container contain with 2,132 ( Two Thousand One Hundred And Thirty Two) cartons of Easy Peelers Clementines were stuffed into 1 x 40 FT. HC. Reefer Container No. BMOU 9753630 and shipped onboard the vessel, M.V. “MOL DIRECTION” Voyage 9905B at Cape Town, Africa and bound for Indonesia.
520 cartons box with marking FAVOURITE from supplier NOORDHOEK and 1,612 cartons box with marking CEDAR from supplier CEDARPACK. Inspection limited to retained 1,148 cartons box consist of 141 cartons box with marking FAVOURITE, 1,007 cartons box with marking CEDAR and another 984 cartons box distributed to retailer prior our attendance
Inspection of Easy Peelers Clementines of Three (3) counts were conducted and noted that the oranges were exposed and infected with diseases mentioned as Sour Rot, Green Mould Rot and Rhizopus Rot due to soil diseases. Creasing and puffy disorder were due to old produces/aging and Rind pitting and stem end pitting were due to the produces exposed to a low/cold temperature of (-) 0.5 Deg. C against the standard recommended optimum transit temperature of (+) 4.0 Deg. C.
Based on our findings at the time and place of inspection, we are of the opinion that the damage to the consignment was due to preshipment nature and disorder as mentioned above due to diseases.
